Good morning everyone.
This might not be for everyone, but if you are into making some extra cash on top of what your 9-5 is paying you, or you’re looking to break free from your day job, then stick around. Today I want to show you some simple side hustles that anyone can start.
We must talk about the preemptive measures you’ll want to take before embarking on your first side hustle. Those being:
Find a side hustle that compliments your current work.
Identify your strengths and weaknesses
Consider the skills you have and the skills you want to learn
Evaluate your time availability
Know what you’re getting into before making commitments
Write these down as it will be important to reflect on later when choosing which side hustle you’ll want to take on.
Now that that’s out of the way let’s get right into the side hustles.
1. Blogging
That is right; you can get paid to write your thoughts down on the internet for anyone to read.
How might you ask?
Well, over time, you will build up an audience of people who read your content. From there, you have a multitude of ways to monetize your blog. For example, you can sell products and have affiliate links to products that you like, and the most simple is putting ads on your blog’s website and getting paid just for people reading.
2. Social Media Management
If you have a keen eye for social media and aesthetics, many people are willing to pay for the skill.
Many companies that are new and trying to create and grow their brand would happily pay for someone to show them the ropes and manage their accounts.
In particular, this side hustle works better if you have more time ( as managing multiple social media accounts can be time-consuming), and it can be as low commitment or as high as you want.
3. Offer Consulting Services
The chances are that whatever you do in life, you’ve acquired a unique set of skills. People that are just starting in whatever field you are in will definitely pay to get a head start by receiving your wisdom.
You can see consulting services in almost every industry, and there’s a good reason for it. It is a very high margin and can cash flow very well. However, one caveat is you’ll have to make sure your employer is okay with your consulting, and you also need to have the experience and knowledge to acquire clients.
4. Start a Print on Demand Store
If you’re the artsy type and have many good ideas for t-shirts, phone cases, and other apparel, then you are welcome to print on demand.
Print on demand allows you to sell your custom designs on a ton of platforms. You can create and sell products using your brand and designs and never worry about inventory or fulfillment. The orders are taken care of by the print-on-demand company and ships directly to the customer with your design and logo.
5. Sell Stock Images or Music
This side hustle is perfect for those who already either love photography or making music. The best part is it’s easy for anyone to do.
With stock images, you can get paid from websites like Shutterstock, Getty Images, and Unsplash. The catch is you have to have at least 1,000 quality pictures usually. But as with every side hustle I’ve mentioned, consistency is key.
On the music side, you can sell your beats to companies like TunePocket, Youtube Audio Library, and Mixdown Music. These companies pay you because they redistribute the images and music to their customers and need a larger and larger inventory.
The theme in the side hustles I chose was keeping a low barrier to entry, meaning anyone can start in a relatively short amount of time. Execution is key.
If anyone of these ideas appeals to you, you should run with them. Of course, preparation is essential, but it’s no good if you never start. So my advice to you is: just start.
